🎙 Yonit, Macron and the interview.. that could have been

יונית לוי והראיון הלקקני עם מקרון

How we became a backdrop again in an “exclusive” interview that missed the point

Yonit Levy and the laconic interview with MacronThere are moments when you sit down in front of the TV, preparing for a historic interview – and then discover that you are watching another one of those shows where Israel plays the role of the “disturbed child” of the class, while the (French) teacher explains why we need to grow up.
That’s exactly what Yonit Levy’s interview with French President Emmanuel Macron in September 2025 felt like. It was supposed to be a rare moment in which the president of a European power speaks directly to the Israeli public. In fact, we received another lesson in European morality, wrapped in a polished French accent and questions as soft as a baguette left on the counter too long.
And your faithful servant wonders – how did “Yonit” get us to the point where we receive a lecture from “such a French teacher” from someone who receives regular kefir from his private teacher.

Macron on the screen – and the European classics return

Macron arrived for the interview with the usual package of messages:

    • “We are concerned about Israel’s security” (in parallel with the meeting in Paris where they recognize an imaginary Palestinian state).
    • “Violence must be condemned on both sides” (because what are a few hundred rockets from Gaza compared to one checkpoint in Samaria).
    • “Europe is here to help” (free translation: sit on the fence, sign another resolution at the UN, and sell moral ammunition to the Palestinians).

The problem is that everything is said in such a distant, so detached tone that you forget that it is In a country that experienced firsthand the Bata-Klan, the burning of Notre Dame, the burning of the synagogue in Toulouse, the Nahal Marzouk riots in Paris, the kidnapping and torture of Ilan Halimi, and countless attempts to impose law and order in the neighborhoods of Paris.

Yonit Levy – the questions that could have been asked

Here comes the painful part: Yonit, who is capable of being a sharp, toxic and venomous interviewer when she wants to, chose to caress Macron.
Instead of asking how exactly Europe contributes to Israel’s security while funding UNRWA and hosting conferences “for the liberation of Palestine,” we received questions along the lines of “Are you worried about the escalation?” and “What is your message to Israelis?”

⮈ Some of the questions that could have turned the interview into real news:

-- פרסומת --
  • “How do you explain the recognition of a Palestinian state when the terrorist organization Hamas controls part of the territory and the hearts of the people?”
  • “How do you explain the recognition of a Palestinian state when it is clearly an imaginary state, with no past or history, no culture, past leaders, and they even openly declare that they come from the surrounding Arabs such as Egypt, Libya, Syria, and more, in other words, simply – invaders of Israel”
  • “What exactly did you do to stop the anti-Semitism that is rampant in the streets Paris?”
  • “What exactly did you do to stop Islam from destroying the famous French culture?”
  • Are you aware that a large part of the massacres committed against Israelis were carried out by civilians, the same ones you want to give a state to?
  • “What exactly did you do to increase the almost non-existent birth rate of the French?”
  • “Are you aware that more than 75% of the French oppose a Palestinian state?”
  • “What exactly did you do to keep French pride alive?”
  • “Do you have a response to the words of Italian Prime Minister Maloni, who said in her famous interview two years ago that you and the French nation exploit the poor and unfortunate miners in El Paso and then cry over exploitation and enslavement in various places in the world, including in the imaginary Palestinian state?”
  • “Is France ready to fight alongside Israel if another round breaks out against Iran?”
  • “Are you aware that the entire world is convinced and understands very well that you are sacrificing French-Israeli relations in order to divert the French people’s eyes from the country’s real problems.”
  • “Have you considered going to a home for battered men?”

But no. We got a smile from a cheerleader and an interview in which Macron repeated a series of slogans, and a polite nod from a Yonet as if it were some diplomatic ceremony.

Macron interviews himself and Yonit is simply missing thereThe gap between reality and the studio conversation

While Macron talked about “peace,” Sderot residents entered the M.A.M.D.s again. While he talked about a “political solution,” the fuel and “aid” sold by European countries continued to light the Gaza tunnels and sustain Hamas terrorists.
While he expressed “deep concern,” France’s representatives at the UN made sure to vote in favor of another resolution Which blames Israel for all the sins of the world.
The Israeli viewer saw this and smiled crookedly: Thank you, President of France, we will manage without you and certainly without the hypocritical French people who even in World War II collaborated to a large extent with the Nazis.

Satire as a reflection of reality

You have to admit: there is something almost comical about the fact that the leaders of Europe stand in front of the camera with the same grim expression, as if they had just saved the world. In reality, they are unable to save even most of their home cities from economic, cultural and demographic disintegration.
When Macron preaches about the “rule of law” in the Middle East, you can almost hear the snickering from Brussels: The rule of law? The one where police don’t enter suburban neighborhoods?

Why does it matter, after all

The problem is not Macron himself – he is merely the symptom. The problem is that European discourse has become so predictable, so shallow, that he manages to enter a studio in Israel without even receiving a hard question.
In a reality where the world recognizes a non-existent state and places Israel in the position of the perpetual defendant, the Israeli media must at least fight back with tough questions. Not for our satisfaction, but so that European leaders will understand that there is a price for hypocrisy.
It is no wonder that the Israeli TV show is losing viewers at the speed of light – everyone eats what they have cooked and it has been … cooking spoiled food for many years.
And this time on the menu they served us a dove in the bush with some dry and soggy macarons

The interview that could have been a lesson in assertiveness

The interview with Macron could have been a moment in which Israel sets the mirror against Europe. Instead, we got another hour of television that reminds us why the right-wing public in Israel treats everything coming from center-left channels with suspicion.
If you’re going to bring in a European president, at least ask him what we all want to know: When will Europe stop using Israel as a proxy for its own problems?

Until then, we’ll keep watching, we’ll keep getting annoyed, and we’ll keep thriving – because if there’s one thing Israel is good at, it’s surviving Europe’s speeches and moving forward.

Yonit Levy and the laconic interview with Macron

And on a personal note, from me – Albert to you:

As an Israeli, I see the destruction of France and the troubles it is drowning in as “poetic justice” as a result of the way France has been stabbing Israel in the back over and over again for the past 3 decades ++ (We haven’t forgotten who sold the Osirak nuclear reactor to Saddam Hussein for example)
By denying the existence of evil, you become an accomplice to evil. You give evil legitimacy and respectability. You have a moral obligation to fight evil, but France always tends to embrace evil.
As I see it – The French government should embrace its “great proposal” to Israel:
‘Two-state solution’ for France!!! “Two states for two peoples”… sounds familiar, doesn’t it? After all – there are more than 3.5 million jihadists in France (as in Gaza + Judea + Samaria combined)
They need to give East Paris and Provence to the French Muslims to establish a state
The name “Francetine” fits the new state (Palestine + Frankenstein = fits the Muslim narrative so well).
The Muslims in France are already the third generation there, it is clear that they need to establish a state” !!!
The new state already has so much to offer: death, persecution, violence, suffering and genocide mania, generously offered by the “culture of peace” ☪.
The French people will have to leave the occupied territories they currently hold, in two months, otherwise all products from France will be boycotted!!!! Pay attention!!!
In the new state (Francetine): History books will have to be written in pencil because they will have to be constantly changed according to the latest Muslim fatwas.
But – this will be just the beginning, in a few months the new neighbors will start firing missiles at France, while the UN will ignore or justify and the rest of Europe, lost, collapsing and seedless, will continue to hug trees and let its daughters be raped by the savages of Islam… What a happy future awaits… What can I say French people – you and the jihadists are a “match made in heaven”
