Bus to New York – and we are always on the road
On Western European Diplomacy and the National Sport of Throwing Israel Under the Wheels
There is an age-old custom in Europe – no wine, no cheese, no football. Europe’s real sport is the one where at every historical crossroads, as soon as the wheels squeak, they make sure that the victim is always us.
It used to be Jews who were burned in the city square because someone couldn’t find anyone to blame for the plague.
Today it’s a little more sophisticated: they simply “vote” against Israel at the UN, stand on the podium, and smile to themselves that they have just solved all the conflicts in the world – except for the fact that they haven’t solved anything, they just stabbed the only country in the Middle East where you can drink coffee upside down without an armed guard following you.
🗽 New York, September 2025: The UN as a traveling circus
Late September, New York is once again full of blue-lighted convoys, presidents take turns on stage like in a stand-up comedy competition, and the UN Secretary-General presents us with the annual show of “Who Wants to Be a Country”.
This time – the icing on the cake – several European countries have decided to officially recognize a Palestinian state that doesn’t exist (I haven’t checked the truth yet) even on Google Maps.
Yes, a state without borders, without elections, without a constitution and without an economy – but with a reserved seat in the UN General Assembly and lots of new flags to wave at demonstrations in Amsterdam.
You might think that the Europeans have solved all the problems at home: no immigrants taking over the city districts, no economic collapse in England and France or political crisis in England, France and the Netherlands, no terrorist attacks in Paris – everything is calm. So they have free time to embrace the fantasy Palestinian and sell the world the illusion that they are “peacemakers”.
“Look at us – we are moral!”
The European classic: a splash of fake morality over any political dish. Because what’s better than painting yourself as the white knight saving the world from occupation? Much more pleasant
It is of course more important to be in favor of the invented “rights of the Palestinian people” than to deal with the fact that Brussels has become a hotbed of jihadists, That Paris is afraid to enforce laws in Muslim neighborhoods, and Berlin is looking for solutions to preserve German society in the face of a rising and threatening Islamist demographic… And England? The situation there is generally difficult – terrorism, rape, a collapsing economy, a public protesting against the government, demonstrations and other nonsense. Luckily, there is a rough and genuine Cockney named Tommy Robbins who restores some hope for the future.
Israel is the perfect solution: it is small enough to threaten it without paying a price, strong enough not to fall apart from it, and Jewish enough to make the European conscience feel that it is finally “fixing the Holocaust” in a distorted, wobbly way.
Throwing Israel under the wheels – but with a smile
If it used to be riots, racial boycotts or the Munich Agreements, today it is simply a vote. Everyone knows that a “Palestinian state” means more missiles on Tel Aviv, more tunnels to the south, and more celebrations in Qatar when Jews are killed – but the European (European (more appropriate these days) The current one will not let the facts ruin his narrative. After all, if the Palestinians get a state – that means their problem is solved, right? No. It just gives them more legitimacy to ask why there is a Jewish state at all. But who is counting.
Cynicism is the name of the game
Every speech by a European president at the UN sounds about the same: “We call on both sides to return to the negotiating table,” as if that table still exists and has not been set on fire by Hamas. Then, to show they are “balanced,” they vote unanimously for the new resolution that blames Israel for every problem in the universe – including climate change, the collapse of the euro, and wine prices in France.
And what is Israel doing?
As usual – stands tall, votes against along with the US, Argentina, maybe Japan, and some Pacific islands that Israel is helping with water technologies. Then – returns home, absorbs headlines about “political isolation” and continues to prosper while the Europeans argue about refugee quotas.
Conclusion (cynical, of course)
If there were a Nobel Prize for throwing Israel under the rug, Europe would already win it every year. Maybe it’s time we stop being surprised: it’s not a bug, it’s a function. As long as the Europeans are looking for a cheap sense of morality – we will remain their favorite scapegoat.
But here’s the real point: with all the hypocrisy, we are still here – stronger, more prosperous, and more successful than most countries that allow themselves to preach morality to us. Maybe that’s actually the sweetest revenge.
