Sometimes it seems like someone here has forgotten that soldiers came to defend, not to write a group children’s book.
Withdrawal from American aid is not a matter of โindependence or death.โ
It is a matter of risk management in a world where dependence is weakness.
Israel is not intentionally harming the American arms industries.
It simply stops playing by rules that were written when it had no choice.
Those who rush to present the move as a demonstration of national independence, or alternatively as a dangerous and unnecessary step, miss the point:
This is a move that seeks to change the rules of the game, not withdraw from it.
It’s not that they are heroes despite what they were taught. They are heroes because of what they were taught โ love of country, tradition, responsibility, honor. Values โโthat are considered social shame today in the West, here they are the entry ticket to life itself.
Living in Israel is like driving on a highway without brakes, with spectacular views and a gas station that sells some of the best hummus in the country.
You never know what tomorrow will bring – but thereโs a good chance it will start with an alarm and end with a deep conversation about life, with a cold beer and a strong sense of belonging.
