“Arab Christians” is a historical oxymoron. They are not Arabs – they are descendants of the ancient peoples of the Levant who were conquered, Arabized, and pushed into a corner. Some are starting to realize it. Others still live the illusion.
Would this ideology have survived one week in the Middle East – without the accompaniment of an editorial?
There are those people who start their day with a “light jog” and an “omelette with avocado.” I, on the other hand, start my morning like a prisoner who hears the call from the shelter: terrified, in pajamas, and stumbling toward the kettle. Every morning. Every day. Since kindergarten.
If history teaches us anything, it’s that great ideas seem wonderful until the moment they need to be implemented.
Trump isn’t just “looking after a friend.” He needs a partner who is free. Free from lawsuits, free from criminal headlines, free to re-establish himself as a regional player with a full political mandate.
If nothing changes, don’t be surprised if one day the kangaroo actually answers you:
“Excuse me, can I speak Arabic?”
If there’s anything history has already proven, it’s that we’re not the ones who need permission to continue to exist.
