Welcome to the 21st century – the place where a relationship is a “story,” cheating is a “human error” with a sad emoji, and marriage is a consometric contract with an exit clause after a year.
There are moments in history when a huge organization suddenly discovers that it is still alive – but mainly by force of inertia. Such is the situation of NATO in the 21st century. The alliance that was founded to stop the Soviet Union has, over the years, become an organization that is trying mainly to stop its own embarrassment.
“Arab Christians” is a historical oxymoron. They are not Arabs – they are descendants of the ancient peoples of the Levant who were conquered, Arabized, and pushed into a corner. Some are starting to realize it. Others still live the illusion.
If history teaches us anything, it’s that great ideas seem wonderful until the moment they need to be implemented.
